Poll: Trump support remains strong in Oklahoma and majority oppose impeachment
A recent survey conducted by pollsters at the public affairs and marketing firm Amber Integrated found that 61% of Oklahomans either strongly approve or somewhat approve of the way President Donald Trump is handling his job as President of the United States. Only 37% of Oklahomans either strongly or somewhat disapproved of President Trump, while 2% of voters were undecided. The survey shows that, despite an ongoing impeachment process and consistently negative national press coverage, Trump continues to perform well in this deep red state.
When voters were asked which presidential candidate they plan on voting for in 2020, 54% of Oklahoma voters stated they planned on voting to re-elect President Trump. Twenty-seven percent of voters indicated that they plan on voting for whoever becomes the Democrat nominee, 8% are planning to vote for an independent candidate, and 10% of voters are undecided.
Unsurprisingly, the movement to impeach Trump is unpopular among Oklahomans. When asked about impeachment, 62% of Oklahoma voters oppose the impeachment of Donald Trump, 30% support impeachment, with the remaining 8% of voters undecided. It is clear that Oklahoma voters largely support the president and would like to see him re-elected.
This survey was conducted from December 4-6, 2019 and included a pool of 500 registered Oklahoma voters. These survey results were weighted based on age, gender, party affiliation, and level of education. This survey has a margin of error of 4.38% at a 95% confidence interval. The poll surveyed both cell phones and landlines and used a combination of live callers and an online panel of registered voters.
